Seasons

When I take a look back at life, I remember the happy times, as well as the hard times; thrown in are some adventures that was followed by confusion. Life in those hard seasons were uncomfortable for me spiritually, I neglected the fact that I needed perfect love, not the type of love you may be thinking about, but the true, unconditional and surpassing love of Jesus that was so harshly displayed through the sacrifice of His life. The point I'm leading you to is that the darkness within the season through it can also bring God glory. In the season that I thought was at my lowest was actually when I couldn't see the victory that was rightfully mine for the taking. Within His word are promises and stories that displayed His faithfulness and I wasn't submerging myself in them, which lead for me to be deprived of genuinely knowing who my Heavenly Father is. What we often forget to realize is that in every season God can still be glorified. How, Psalms 23 and 121 along with others passages display God's ability to be with us. Situations may seem to be hopeless and destructive to us, but what I came to realize is that, for example, the Golden Gate bridge, beneath it, is the ocean also around it may be a storm or gloomy weather ever-changing seasons and weather conditions. Does the thick fog destroy it? Will the waves cause damage? No. Why? The four years of construction and hard labor resulted in a strong, beautiful attraction that is used every day for people to get from one side to the other. I use this as an example because, if you can imagine with me, our lives should be built firmly on Jesus, so that, we may be able to remain unshaken by the seasons of life. Winter, spring, summer, and fall, the bridge still stands serving as a way for people to crossover. The seasons I went through, loneliness, insecurity, and confusion weren't for nothing, at the moment I didn't see it, but now I can serve as a bridge to allow for people to cross over to there destiny because of the years of construction done in my life. Seasons aren't meant to tear you down; God wants to use them to build you up to give your story a more significant purpose to serve and encourage others in their faith. I've tossed back and forth of why we all can become so discouraged in a hard season and what causes the pain and internal struggle besides what can physically impact us. I think the truth of the matter is that when we become inwardly focussed, we are obstructing our view and perspective on life. I can run and walk while looking at my feet the whole time to make sure that I don't trip over anything, but I'm sacrificing my view to see where I'm headed. By keeping my head down, I may be headed towards a wall or into traffic because I'm so focused on not tripping over a little rock or bump in the sidewalk. Don't fear failure, instead trust God as your guide. While you're in the stressful season, don't isolate and distance yourself, look up and see who's around you that you can reach out to ask for help. James 5:16 is a verse that gives us the key to healing and isolating yourself and expecting to receive healing on your own isn't obeying the instruction of God's word. I felt alone for a long time because one I felt betrayed by my friends and two I was too insecure to put myself out there to try to make new relationships. Insecurity and confusion is the lie of the enemy, but joy and strength is the promise of the Lord. In whatever season you're in, just know that you're not alone. If you're in a great one, begin to press on to live life as a bridge for others to seek help and encouragement from; assisting them in propelling them forward by encouraging them with your story. If you're going through a hard one, can I encourage you to look up and take a look to see where God might be leading you too and who's where you aspire to be? When you have built your life on a firm foundation, you don't have to adopt a broken mentality. A dark season doesn't have to scar you or taint your love for Jesus if anything my testimony causes me to fall more in love with my savior because I am not the same person as I was then. A season is just a chapter in your life; it is not the will of God for it to be the end.
